Equity Group Foundation Awards Sony Complex Nursery School

Equity Group Foundation presented a fifty-thousand-shilling cheque to Sony Complex Nursery School as an award for their outstanding performance at last term's National Drama Festivals. The school emerged as the first runner-up with a dramatised singing game, which was presented before His Excellency, the President at State House, Nairobi.

Equity Bank, Awendo Branch Manager, Mr Willis Amach, presented the cheque to Sony Complex Nursery School Headteacher, Ms Jacqueline Wabuko. The Friday 12th June, 2026 event was hosted by the Managing Director, JP Odhiambo, who lauded the working relationship between Equity Bank Kenya Limited and Equity Group Foundation on one side, and SonySugar Company 2025 Ltd on the other, which she said, will continue to discover and nurture many talents. Also present were the BOM Members led by Ms Mariam Naisola on behalf of the Board Chair, Shem Odhiambo. Sony Complex School was represented at the event by Mr Peter Amamo. Pastor Victor Okinyi from Sony SDA Church offered a prayer.

 

Equity Group Foundation partners with the Ministry of Education to promote education through Wings to Fly and Elimu Scholarships, and also sponsors music and drama activities focusing on the theme of Environmental Conservation and Sustainable Development.

Learners who reach regional and national festival levels are awarded cash prizes. Equity Group Foundation has also planted over 20,000 trees within the SonySugar' Nucleus Estate to conserve the environment.
